Darrell Miklos
Throughout his adult life, Darrell Miklos has passionately pursued treasures hidden within early colonial period shipwrecks. His journey into treasure hunting began at the tender age of seven, under the guidance of his father, Roger Miklos, a renowned treasure hunter in his own right. Darrell's career took a fascinating turn as he collaborated with the late astronaut Gordon Cooper in search of treasure-laden shipwrecks, a partnership that inspired the Discovery Channel series "Cooper's Treasure." This show, which aired for two seasons, explored Darrell's unique relationship with Cooper and the quest that ensued from Cooper's legacy.
Since 2005, Miklos has dedicated himself to exploring Cooper's maps, leading to the discovery of several hundred shipwrecks over his 40-year career. His expeditions have spanned the waters of the Caribbean, Atlantic, and Mediterranean, covering more than 20 countries. Miklos's latest project involves the search for Nazi U-Boats, which is highlighted in his series "Lost U-Boats of WWII" on the History Channel.
In addition to his treasure hunting exploits, Miklos, alongside his close friend Nathan Riegle Nolan, has ventured into jewelry design. Together, they have created a line of jewelry featuring copper spikes and nails, each piece handcrafted and incorporating colonial period copper sourced from shipwrecks recovered by Miklos. This unique collection not only embodies the spirit of adventure but also carries a piece of history, making each item a treasure in its own right.
